The 1,838 homes of Soaring Heights Communities are spread across two southwestern states and are located at two of the Air Force’s premier Bases, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ and Holloman AFB, NM. Actus Lend Lease was selected as the partner for the U.S. Air Force to develop, manage, and maintain the Military Family housing in July 2006.
Nestled among the desert terrain, Soaring Heights Communities’ (SHC) neighborhoods include pedestrian friendly streets, spacious community centers, and other amenities focused on easing the lives of Military Families. New homes feature five star ENERGY STAR appliances, technology niches, and covered porches for integrated indoor/outdoor living. In addition, environmental, social and economic sustainability are integrated into every facet of the community are highlighted through educational and family focused resident programs, local partnerships and use of small and local businesses, and premier, innovative safety and recycling programs.
The first series of new homes were delivered to Holloman AFB in January 2009. These energy efficient homes are 20-40% larger than many of the homes Airmen and their Families have been living in for years and boast a number of features designed specifically to allow residents to live the lifestyle they deserve in the place they belong. Actus Lend Lease is developing 388 new three and four bedroom homes at Holloman AFB and renovating another 420 existing homes.
The homes and neighborhoods of Soaring Heights Communities at Davis-Monthan AFB are designed with the active lifestyle of residents in mind. Xeiroscape lawns, ENERGY STAR appliances, and a commitment to using only energy efficient lighting are some examples of why SHC is a leader in sustainable development. SHC will build 573 new homes at Davis-Monthan AFB, with another 159 homes receiving extensive renovations. The first series of new homes were opened in January 2009.
